Partner Program Terms
Last updated: September 27, 2026
These Partner Program Terms (“Partner Terms”) govern your participation in the Writing Crucible Affiliate & Partner Program. By signing up for our Partner Program, you agree to be bound by these terms as well as our standard Terms of Service.
1. Program Overview
The Writing Crucible Partner Program lets you earn a commission by introducing writers to Writing Crucible. When you join through our partner portal at writingcrucible.promotekit.com, you receive a personal referral link and a personal partner code to share with your audience.
2. Commissions and Payouts
- Commission rate: 30% of the net revenue we receive (after discounts, taxes, and payment processing fees) from each paid subscription you refer.
- Commission period: 12 months, starting from the referred writer's first paid invoice — not from their signup or trial. Commissions are paid on payments received during those 12 months, including renewals and plan changes.
- Payments only: Commissions are earned on money actually collected. There is no reward for signups, trials, or accounts that never pay.
- Payout schedule: Payouts are made monthly through the partner portal, after a clearance period that allows for refunds and chargebacks. Payouts are subject to the minimum threshold shown in your partner dashboard.
- When to expect your first payout: Because referred writers start with a 14-day free trial, their first payment arrives at least two weeks after they sign up. With the clearance period and monthly payouts, your first earnings typically arrive six to eight weeks after your first referral signs up.
3. What Your Audience Gets
- A 14-day free trial with full access, and no card required to start.
- 10% off their first 3 paid months (or 10% off their first year, if they choose annual billing), applied automatically when they start paying.
- The discount is available to new Writing Crucible accounts only, and cannot be combined with other discounts. A writer who already holds another discount (for example an early-adopter discount) keeps that discount instead.
4. How Referrals Are Tracked
- Referral link: A writer who arrives through your link and signs up in the same browser is attributed to you, and that attribution is then saved to their account — it does not depend on a cookie surviving through their trial. If they click on one device and sign up on another, your partner code is the reliable way to be credited.
- Partner code: A writer can enter your code when they sign up, or arrive through a link that already contains it (for example
writingcrucible.com/?code=YOURCODE). The code is saved to their account, so they never need to remember it at checkout. - Attribution follows the first referral recorded on an account. A writer who signs up without your link or code and never enters it cannot be attributed to you retrospectively.
5. Refunds, Chargebacks, and Cancellations
- No commission is due on payments that are refunded or charged back. If a commission has already been paid on such a payment, it will be deducted from your future payouts.
- If a referred writer cancels, commissions stop with their payments. If they later resubscribe within the 12-month commission period and remain attributed to you, commissions resume for the remainder of that period.
6. Promotion Guidelines
When promoting Writing Crucible, you agree to:
- Make clear and transparent disclosures about your affiliate relationship with us, in accordance with FTC guidelines and other applicable laws.
- Use only ethical and legal marketing practices.
- Avoid spam, unsolicited bulk email, or any form of deceptive marketing.
- Not bid on Writing Crucible brand terms or trademarks in pay-per-click (PPC) advertising without prior written consent.
- Not impersonate Writing Crucible or falsely represent yourself as an employee or official representative.
- Self-referrals (signing up for a paid plan using your own affiliate link or code) are strictly prohibited and will result in the forfeiture of commissions.
7. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your participation in the Partner Program at any time for violations of these Terms, fraudulent activity, or any behavior that we deem harmful to our brand or users. Upon termination for cause, any pending commissions may be forfeited. You may also cancel your participation at any time by contacting support.
8. Modification of Terms
We may update these Partner Terms from time to time. Any changes to commission structures will primarily affect future referrals, though we reserve the right to make changes with advanced notice. Continued participation in the program following any changes constitutes your acceptance of the new terms.
